Jon Oakes is the Technology Labs Coordinator for the San José State University King Library which provides access to emerging technology across disciplines to faculty and staff such as VR, AI, Electronics, and Student Computing Services. Prior to joining SJSU, he was a serial entrepreneur with a background in venture funded startups for AI, VR, cloud-based systems, and Internet technologies. While he is an enthusiastic advocate for emerging technologies, he believe technical skills should be infused with experience gained from the humanities including ethical considerations, environmental impact, and human factors.
