Andy Fitzgerald is an independent information architect with expertise in design research, subject domain modeling, and structured content design.
Andy is an interaction designer at frog design in Seattle. Andy strives to make the unwieldy intuitive, to find elegant solutions to complex problems, and to engage in purpose-driven work that produces practical results. He is passionate about the role of design in creating flexible structures for understanding in the connected environment. Andy is an active member of the experience design community and has given talks and workshops at UX London, HOW Interactive, Google Dev Fest, AIGA Into the Woods, and Information Architecture Summits in the US and Italy. He is also a frequent contributor to UX and technology publications, including UX Booth and O’Reilly Radar. Prior to frog Andy was an Information Architect at the University of Washington and an Associate Creative Director at Deloitte Digital, where he worked on mobile and cross-channel solutions for clients in retail, transportation, entertainment, and healthcare. Andy holds a PhD in English Language and Literature from the University of Washington.
