Annick is a UX/UI Designer at Brightwell, a FinTech company that provides financial for immigrants with a focus on cruise ship workers. She practices user-centered design and strongly believes in the importance of conducting qualitative and quantitative research throughout the design process. She is passionate about the use and maintenance of design systems, and enjoys solving complex problems that involve intersections of complex legal, technical and social problems. Born to a Swiss father and Guatemalan mother, she grew up traveling the world before settling in Atlanta for college. She studied Illustration at SCAD with a minor in Concept Art for Games, and worked for a few years as an artist in a variety of animation and video games studios. She later studied Human-Computer Interaction at GA Tech, and worked at AKQA before moving on to Brightwell. Her unique background gives her a unique combination of skills and knowledge that benefit her work every day. In her spare time, she loves playing video games, painting, reading and playing with her cats.
