Having started his design career in the early 90s, Sean has been involved in creating digital experiences since the beginning days of “interactive cd-roms” and the “world wide web.” During that time he helped form and lead one of the earliest interactive design teams in Minneapolis where he also spent time reflecting and teaching at MCAD. Through the years Sean has worked with a range of clients and companies but has always focused on designing solutions that are meaningful for humans and effective for business.
In 2006 Sean founded ConnectFive///// and has spent the last decade helping a Fortune 100 client successfully research and design their next generation embedded display that is now in use worldwide. During that project he identified the need to make user research easier for teams. So, he founded Handrail, a SaaS based User Research & Insights Platform, that is focused on streamlining the qualitative research process. With a vision of “Inspiring great design through human understanding,” Sean is dedicated to making sure that we as practitioners can deliver on the promise of human centered design.
