Opening Doors: How to Avoid the UX-pert Trap

Presented by:

Lissy Torres, Lucy Lee

As designers we try to empathize with our users and to do good. However, to make a difference for our users, we as individuals and as teams sometimes need to work on ourselves first. After all, a lot of the core skills we use to create meaningful work are intangible (ex. Empathy, handling critique) and can be fostered through practice. I’d like to go over three tangible exercises our team has used to practice being more mindful and engaged, and what we learned throughout the process.
