In our relatively new field, we use a lot of words. Words towards the end-user and words amongst ourselves. We are good with words, aren’t we? We use fancy words, some would say ‘jargon’, words that are clear and precise, and perhaps a little pun here and there. We know what those words mean, and expect the same of others. But what if they don’t? Or we are not clear about what other people’s words mean?
Words are powerful creatures that can convey messages, spark emotions, and build civilizations. But they can also confuse, hurt and wreak havoc. As it turns out: context is everything.
